Last post was a lazy protective style. Here, I was inspired by my necklace. Reminds me of Egypt or at least my stereotypes of Egypt lol so I call this, Cairo.

The Hawk

Since I've started my summer internship, I've experimented with a couple different styles for my yarn braids. From my last post, you all know that I'm dying to take my hair out. But for a protective style to be effective, it has to stay in :(

I call this, the faux-hawk ponytail.

The Itch

After attending the meetup on Saturday and reading through numerous hair blogs today, I am SO itching to take my hair out of these yarn braids. But, I know my hair does better when I don't mess with it. Plus this west coast dryness can NOT be good for me.

But I still want to take out my hair by 4th of July weekend. I miss my twist-outs!

Instagram Oops!

Since I've downloaded Instagram, I keep forgetting to share my hair pix with my blog followers. I apologize :D But now that I've got you reading again, does anyone know the best way to moisturize yarn braids? Being in California for the summer definitely dries out my hair. What have I been using so far? JBCO, shea butter + olive oil. Any other suggestions??

Yarn Braids

It took 4 hours yesterday and about 4 hours today but I finally finished these yarn braids. I'm a first timer and it wasn't hard once I watched a few YouTube videos and got the hang of it!
