An easy way to make a blow-out last?
Day one: Looks amazing!
Day seven: Not so much. Solution? Spritz a little leave-in conditioner, coconut oil and shea butter onto your ends and make 6 chunky twists throughout your hair (depending on the length) and VOILA! My hair was so soft and bouncy with this method!
How do you make your twist-outs last?

1st Protective Style of 2012
Yay! First PS of the new year!
Day one: Woke up. Was bored. Decided to 2-strand twist my hair and flat twist in the front
Day four: Woke up. Decided I want to wash my hair so here are the results of my twist-out

Life can be so random.

Twist-out on Bantu Knot-out

So I went to my friend's graduation yesterday and so many people asked me how I achieved my look!
It was quite simple actually. I re-did my bantu knot out (from a previous post) except this time I did it when my hair was wet. Then the next day, I flat twisted my hair (dry) and took it out the morning of graduation!
Lots of coconut oil helped it not to look dry. Thoughts?

Fighting Temptations
SO tempted to straighten my hair for my birthday.
I DON'T want an updo or a twistout. Any other PS options?

WTF Day #1
After I took off my beach hair (lol),I had no clue what to do with my hair. Last night I tried to do a chunky twist out on my dry hair...but let's just say that it didn't work out too well. So this morning I just created a random, and in my opinion - slightly messy- hairstyle. But I plan to be able to untwist the front and be able to put Ms. Goldfinger over the back.

p.s. if you're wondering why I named her Ms. Goldfinger, someone over the weekend said she looked like Beyonce in the Austin Powers movie :)

Day One

So I've decided to take part in Alex's Protective Style Challenge. This blog will serve as a place to document frustrations, slip-ups, protective styles - whatever. So let's get to it!
Yesterday I took out my kinky twists and now my twist out looks amazing! However I know it won't last all week. I haven't even washed my hair since I put them in on July 3rd! (way overdue, I know). Currently I have between 8.25 and 8.5 inches of length.. will probably give myself a light trim on Thursday when I wash it...
Anywho I went to the beauty supply store around the corner today. The fact that it was brand new should have been a warning. It was a little pricey and the "customer service" representative seemed like she didn't want to be there, but I did get this wig for about 17 bucks (20% off). Looks natural right?
